The Nikon FG stands as the successor to the Nikon EM of 1979 and the precursor to the Nikon FG-20 of 1984. This trio formed Nikon's first family of ultra-compact 35mm SLR camera bodies. While the FG features a less advanced shutter compared to its higher-priced counterparts, its sophisticated electronic design sets it apart from earlier electromechanical Nikons.

With the addition of Program AE (a first for Nikon), match LED manual metering, and OTF flash AE, the FG offers a range of features that empower photographers to capture their creative visions.
